In 65 AD, Rome is under the tyrannical rule of Emperor Nero. As opposition against him grows due to his excessive and self-indulgent ways, conspiracies begin to form, threatening his power. Nero desperately tries to defend his claim of sovereignty through any means necessary. Seneca, a renowned philosopher, has been Nero’s mentor and close advisor since childhood and played a significant role in his rise to power. However, Nero grows weary of Seneca and uses a foiled assassination attempt to falsely accuse him of being an accomplice.
